Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small text file on your device. The browser’s local storage serves the same purpose. We use both only to run the site.

What your device keeps

Your browser remembers your answer to the privacy notice, your choice for continuous listening, your listening position and your font size. This information stays with you. A cookie is created only when you sign in or enter your membership number.

No tracking

We use no third-party cookies, no advertising cookies and no analytics tools. All content comes from our own servers. Whoever visits Ars Aquae remains unobserved.

Deleting

No consent is required, so there is nothing to withdraw. You can delete the stored information at any time in your browser settings.

Who is responsible

Ars Aquae Association
team@ars-aquae.ch

We comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

What a visit generates

The server records your IP address and your browser identifier, that is the number of your connection on the network and the program you use to display the site. We use this to count visits, without reference to any person. There is no tracking, no advertising cookies, no analytics tools and no third party reading along.

The cookie when signing in

Only when you sign in does the server set a single cookie with a random identifier. By it the server recognises that you are signed in, nothing more. It is valid for fourteen days, eight hours for the administration access, and expires when you sign out.

The cookie of the Practice

If you enter your membership number in the Practice, the server sets a cookie with a random identifier, never with the number itself. It opens the areas of the Practice to you on this device for one year.

What your device keeps

Your browser keeps four values that cannot be attributed to any person. Your choice for continuous listening, your listening position with chapter and second, your font size and your answer to the privacy notice. Without an account these values never reach us.

With an account your listening position is also stored on the server, so that you can continue at the same place on a second device. Stored are chapter, second, the time of the last change and your bookmarked chapters. Only the latest position is kept, no history is created.

A helper program of your browser, the service worker, stores individual pages in case the connection drops. It reports nothing to us. You can delete everything on your device in your browser settings.

What you give us

If you write us an e-mail, we use your details only to reply.

Through the contact form we receive your first name, surname, e-mail address, subject and your message. Through the enquiry on the page about the still we receive your first name, surname, e-mail address and your statements on your concern and your legal age. For the enquiry we first send you a confirmation link. Only after your confirmation is the enquiry with us; unconfirmed details are deleted after twenty-four hours. We keep this information until your enquiry has been answered. An invisible field in the form wards off robots, a human does not fill it in.

For a callback we additionally receive your telephone number, preferred time, language and your remarks. If you do not confirm the appointment within one hour via the link in our e-mail, we discard all the details. After the conversation we delete them.

If you request the PDF under “The costs”, we first send you a confirmation link. After your confirmation the PDF goes to your address, and we keep the address for further contact. Unconfirmed requests are deleted after twenty-four hours.

If you subscribe to the newsletter at the foot of the page, we first send you a confirmation link. Only after your confirmation do we add your e-mail address to the mailing list and store it together with the language of the page and the time of subscription and confirmation. We use it solely for the newsletter and analyse neither opens nor clicks. Every issue carries a link to unsubscribe, after which we delete your address immediately. We delete unconfirmed subscriptions after twenty-four hours.

For a user account we store your first name, surname, e-mail address, the day it was opened and your password as a checksum from which it cannot be recovered. If you write to us from the same e-mail address, we assign the enquiry to your account. Two years after your last sign-in we delete the account, earlier at your request.

Every form and every sign-in attempt leaves the IP address for at most twenty-four hours. This is how we slow down robots that submit a form a thousand times.

To whom the data go

Your data stays with the Association. We pass it on only when the law requires it.

Your rights

You may at any time request information, correction or deletion, object to processing and take your data with you in a readable form. If you feel your rights have been violated, you can lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

Your Questions

For anything concerning your data, write to team@ars-aquae.ch.

Licence and Authorisation

The Confederation authorises distilling apparatus with a capacity of three litres or more individually. The Ars Aquae still exceeds this limit. Whoever installs it therefore needs an authorisation from the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security BAZG under Article 7 of the Alcohol Act. It applies to a specific person and a specific place of installation.

The Association prepares the application, provides the documents on the apparatus and accompanies the procedure. You notify the BAZG yourself of any move, modification or transfer. After the training you receive a certificate from the Association. It confirms your training and is not an official authorisation.

The registration

The acquisition of an Ars Aquae still is recorded by a one-time registration with the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security in Delémont. This legal step underlines the character of the apparatus as a fully fledged instrument of the highest art of distillation.

The association reliably accompanies you through every step of this uncomplicated procedure, from compiling the documents to receiving the authorisation.

With the official registration with the Confederation, your apparatus takes its place among the professional distilleries of the country. From then on you operate not a simple kitchen appliance but a state-recognised instrument for refining water at the highest level.

The administrative handling takes place in close cooperation with the association, which takes care of all correspondence and the fees for you.
